Frequently Asked Questions

Accessibility: The downtown tours are not suitable for people who are unable to walk or stand for long periods of time (20 minutes or more) without sitting down. Private tours can be customized to accommodate special needs.

Special Needs: Houston Walks will attempt to ensure that groups with special needs have an itinerary that recognizes those needs.

Children: Some of our tours are NOT suitable for children. On child-friendly tours, please make the children aware that they will be touring in a professional environment and are expected to behave accordingly. Private tours can be customized to accommodate children of all ages.

Additional Participants: Those wishing to attend the tour on the day of are able to pay with cash or by check at the meeting point.

Cancellations & Refunds: Tours may be canceled and/or rescheduled with 48 hours’ advance notice. Your tour payment will not be refunded, but you may reschedule your tour for any available time during 12 months from the date of your original tour.

Gratuities: Gratuities are not included in the price of your tour. If you feel a gratuity is appropriate, 15%-20% is the normal rate.

Restrooms: Restrooms are available at the start point and end point of each tour. Unless previously requested, there will be no rest stops during the tour unless an emergency situation arises.

Safety Guidelines: When using a revolving door or escalator, only one person should occupy a step on an escalator or a section of a revolving door.
